Director, Technology - FS Tech & Data

We’re looking for an influential leader who can flawlessly execute on our existing commitments and business as usual, while constantly pushing the envelope by identifying opportunities for improvement, designing how we address those opportunities, and delivering a better way. This individual will need to act as the “chief operating officer” for our organization, creating the optimal environment in which the organization can be the most successful.

We are looking for an independent thinker that is not afraid to challenge the status quo using convincing, evidence-based, consensus oriented questions. The ideal candidate will be able to blend a mix of processes, including lean methodologies, project, and technology understanding to address the demands of internal customers, while balancing those needs with both risk and the needs of our engineering and product teams to deliver great day to day and long-term strategic solutions.

  • Oversee the operations of our Financial Services data product organization as the “chief operating officer”

  • Lead a diverse team of project, process, and agile professionals

  • Ensure all company risk, compliance, and technology requirements are understood and met through management processes and scorecards

  • Define and set operating procedures, including agile processes, prioritization, monthly business reviews, scorecards, and accountability measures

  • Identify and establish strong analytical processes, such as reporting to drive accountability and voice of the customer to guide our tech and product teams

  • Establish communications and customer support standards and processes

  • Understand and problem solve customer challenges with the data product organization and propose solutions to improve

  • Interact with Audit and other risk partners as needed

  • Help elevate and foster engagement within and across teams to strengthen the data product organization

  • Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to interact and build strong partnerships across organizational boundaries

  • Understand the impact of processes and controls on engineering teams and other stakeholders and design solutions to maximize outcomes and minimize manual effort

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, unstructured environment

  • Develop and foster project, process and agile talent within the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • At least 7 years experience executing enterprise level cross-functional programs or operations 

  • At least 5 years experience interacting with business stakeholders

  • At least 5 years of people management experience

  • At least 5 years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 8+ years' experience in project management

  • 5+ years’ experience leading large technology and/or data programs

  • 5+ years’ experience with lean six sigma or similar methodologies
