This position is for an associate business development banker focused on supporting and servicing relationships with commercial clients in the TMT group, a specialty team within Capital One Bank’s commercial banking division. This role supports the senior relationship managers in creating value-add pitchbooks, supporting credit approvals, analyzing financials, completing pre-screen deal memos, and assisting with data research, analysis & reporting.
Ownership of pre-screen deal memos, including analysis of industry and company financial condition, key risks and mitigants, pricing & returns analysis, and evaluation of the viability & profitability of the opportunity
Support senior relationship managers and deal team throughout the credit approval process, including business diligence, legal documentation, and transaction closing
Assist in the preparation of customer presentations and term sheets
Assist in pipeline tracking and market share analysis
Participate in business development networking activities

Bachelor’s degree or military experience
Business or finance degree
Master’s in Business Administration
Proven success in Corporate Sales or Corporate Risk
Completion of a commercial credit training program
Team player with proven ability to execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
Strong interest in the creation of client pitch books and ability to craft various financing views (structure and pricing) with limited senior banker involvement
Passionate about problem-solving and finding creative solutions
Ability to work collaboratively with partners across business lines
Highly proficient in MS Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Salesforce.com
