Manager, Community Impact & Investment-Financial Well-Being

We are hiring for a Manager, Financial Well-Being

The Community Impact & Investment team is hiring for a Manager of Financial Well-Being.  As a member of the CII team and the External Affairs team, the Manager will be responsible for working across Capital One lines of business to support financial well-being activities, support a portfolio of nonprofit partners seeking to integrate financial education tools and resources into programdelivery,  and serve as a resource on personal finance best practices.  The successful candidate will work with external and internal partners to build financial education tools and resources that support Capital One associates, customers and community on their financial well-being journey.  

Core expectations include: 

  • Create and deploy financial education content and resources on topics such as credit, homeownership, savings, budgeting and financial digital literacy 

  • Maintain an internal platform that serves as a centralized resource for financial education tools and resources

  • Manage partnerships with nonprofit organizations to advance financial well-being in underserved communities and identify opportunities to integrate Capital One’s financial education resources into nonprofit program delivery

  • Review grant applications in accordance with Capital One’s grantmaking standards

  • Oversee the training of Capital One volunteers in the delivery of financial education workshops ensuring consistency in workshop facilitation skills    

  • Partner with Capital One lines of business to help inform and influence an enterprise-wide financial well-being strategy

  • Liaise between internal and external stakeholders to facilitate discussions regarding emerging trends, issues and best practices that may inform product and services development

  • Closely monitor and research emerging trends and issues that will inform, amplify, and evolve Capital One’s financial-well being philanthropic strategy 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial well-being space, including areas of credit, debt management, saving or budgeting, or any combination

  • At least 3 years of work experience creating and maintaining financial education content and resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience leading or facilitating financial education workshops in underserved communities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong facilitation skills 

  • Fluency in digital tools and the ability to understand and learn new digital skills and tools

  • Detail-oriented individual with event management experience

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and conversational

  • Experience in corporate social responsibility  

  • A team player who is committed to continued learning
