This Manager role will have the responsibility of driving the talent learning and development agenda for Capital One. This individual will partner closely with key business leaders to understand highest priority business needs both now and in the future, partner to identify the highest points of leverage in learning for the business, and craft digital-first (but not only) learning solutions to enable that learning. This leader will serve as a visionary and architect for crafting new experiences as a part of our Capital One learning portfolios. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build close partnerships with Business Executives and HR Leadership to understand imperatives, gain insights into critical talent drivers for the organization, and consult on the appropriate talent development agenda

  • Consult, design, develop, curate, and deliver learning solutions for front line and home office audiences

  • Accountable for business-critical learning priorities focused on job-specific skills and competencies, cultural transformation, and more

  • Partner with key business partners to identify and prioritize points of leverage in learning for business impact and scope learning needs for new initiatives to build out our learning portfolio

  • Partner with other Learning & Development professionals across the Enterprise to gain efficiencies, share best practices, and optimize how we interact

  • Create and adopt  innovative digital learning solutions, created in-house and through vendor partnerships

  • Define and socialize learning’s story of how we plug in as a strategic talent lever, culture impactor, and business results driver and where we can optimally support the business

  • Partner with analysts to measure the impact of learning on business success, as well as to identify performance trends as an input to future learning efforts

  • Recommend appropriate change management solutions to drive adoption and that reflect and influence the learning culture

  • Coach and develop learning professionals  to enable them to bring their best skills and talents to Capital One and to continue to grow

  • Represent learning in broader project efforts, ensuring an early focus on the implementation needs to ensure effective delivery in alignment with project timeline goals

  • Stay up-to-date on relevant learning trends, industry benchmarks, and leading edge technology advancements with recommendations on how they could positively impact Capital One and learning culture

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience 

  • At least 3 years of experience in client facing consulting 

  • At least 3 years of experience in learning and development

  • At least 3 years of experience using multiple rapid development content tools such as Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or Camtasia to create online courseware

  • At least 2 years of experience in project management

  • At least 2 years of experience in learning strategy creation

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Instructional Design, Organizational Learning, or Human Resource Development

  • At least 5 years of experience in learning and development 

  • At least 3 years of experience in learning strategy creation

  • At least 3 years of experience in project management

  • At least 3 years of experience in a digital organization
