But we’re not sitting around waiting for competitors to catch up. As we expand our retail footprint to include more Cafes, we’re finding ways to be more innovative, relevant and impactful — and we’re looking for a Hospitality Project Manager - Cafe Food & Beverage to help us.

The Role:

As the hospitality service lead of the hospitality team, this role is to inspire and embody the highest integrity to guest service, hospitality, operations and guest experience.  Hospitality is defined as approaching all interactions with our associates, our vendors, our customers and our greater community with warmth, empathy and a high emotional intelligence.  The Hospitality Lead will strategize, guide and coordinate the service experience of the Capital One cafes.  Bring your energy, passion and financial acumen to a team of amazing people to guide our cafes to the next level.  Our cafe portfolio of plus 50 is transforming its elevation each day through design, digital experience, in house experience and increased value of food and beverage offerings through our vendor.

Leadership: Lead, mentor, engage and develop service teams to maximize their contributions.  Be the person that prides oneself on belonging and inclusiveness and seek to identify the best in each associate for greatest engagement. Provide teach-ins to associates for greater development of service expectations and guest experience.  Reward and recognize associates.  

Food and Vendor Relationship: Employ a strong working relationship with the vendors that provide food and beverage offerings in the cafes.  Oversee the Food and Beverage vendors, ensuring adherence to Capital One standards of safety, guest engagement, OCC guidelines, community engagement and marketing initiatives.  Coordinate ongoing day to day communications between the food and beverage vendors and Capital One stakeholders.  Ensure the success of all new cafe openings.

Financial Performance: Conduct monthly business reviews with the food and beverage vendors for performance metrics and marketing initiatives. Guide and advise on areas for improvement, be it sales and / or expenses.  Be part of the team that prepares yearly budgets for the food and beverage marketing program.  Ensure all invoices related to the food and beverage vendor are timely and reviewed with detail for accuracy.  

Productivity: Build strong relationships with the Capital One design, construction, marketing and banking teams in upholding the excellence and efficiency of the cafes.  Work closely with the Capital One marketing team on all marketing initiatives.  Ensure the food and beverage experience is maximizing engagement and repeat business.  Coordinate new store openings, needs of the food and beverage vendors.  Ensure the cafes deliver on the brand promise of everyday well being,

The Person:

We’re looking for someone with enlightened hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a passion for process and procedures. Desired skills and experience include:

  • Ability to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships at all levels — and to inspire, coach and develop a team of associates.

  • Have built and trained team members on enlightened hospitality 

  • Strong brand-building expertise — you know how to win people over through experiences that resonate and moments that connect

  • A get-it-done approach and an entrepreneurial spirit — you're excited by the challenge to build the team and grow the brand.

  • Expertise in identifying and shaping strategic hospitality initiatives, including seasonal and regional POVs

  • Work closely with partners in Construction, Design, Marketing and Bank for creation of the best in class experience for the cafes

  • Manage the Food and Beverage Budget for the vendors

  • Management of food and beverage financials, including income statement, capital assets and financial metrics for relevant KPI’s

  • Food & beverage operational know-how — you understand the back-end mechanics that go into an exceptional guest experience

  • A keen eye for consumer trends and consumer insights — you know how to adapt the experience to meet changing consumer appetites and needs

  • Ability to see projects through from inception to creative execution, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and partners along the way

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in the hospitality space developing strategic marketing initiatives within the Food, Beverage, Hospitality or Retail industry

  • At least 10 years of direct guest service experience with third party hospitality management consulting groups or within a hospitality or food and beverage organization

  • At least 2 years experience in Profit & Loss impact and accounting practices

  • At least 2 years of food and beverage operations management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree

  • Extensive experience in the food service industry, including a vast knowledge of establishing and maintaining long-term client relationships

  • Financial management experience with large budgets for hospitality enterprises

  • Business/marketing knowledge to understand how programming activities can contribute to overall business goals.
