We are looking for a Business Operations lead to join our team in Retail & Direct Bank Technology. This is a pivotal role that elevates our speed & quality of execution through fact-based decision-making while acting as the ‘connective tissue’ of our organization. You will be part of a strong & diverse team and will be working closely with technology teams as well as technology, product & risk executives. This person will report to our Head of Strategy & Business Operations.

As a member of the Strategy & Business Operations team within Capital One’s Retail and Direct Technology organization, you will apply your analytical, risk management, and project management skills to improve customer outcomes and increase our efficiency. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company’s technology platform. You will take on important and exciting responsibilities from day one, working with key stakeholders across the company. This role is in our technology organization, where we experiment and innovate, leveraging the latest technologies to enable  our engineers to create breakthrough customer experiences.  Our team of 1,000 engineers makes a daily impact on the banking experience of 65 million Capital One customers. Responsibilities:

  • Develop a center of excellence for how our software engineers build the right customer outcomes efficiently & with high quality as part of an empowered team

  • Partner with agile delivery & technology to improve our performance on key delivery metrics

  • Lead a project management team supporting highly cross-functional strategic projects

  • Create routines and processes to enable effective management of the RDT organization

  • Promote strategic vision and execute tactical operations to implement overarching risk assessment and risk management programs

  • Partner with Cyber and Tech Risk Management for proactive risk identification, assessment & monitoring

  • Point of contact for compliance and audit engagements

  • Navigates easily between technology and business topics and has a strong understanding of major technology trends

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree 

  • At least 6 years experience in project management 

  • At least 5 years of experience in strategy development

  • At least 5 years of experience managing senior stakeholders across different business functions
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • 8+ years of Project Management, Operational Risk Management, Audit or Compliance Experience 

  • 5+ year of experience working with technology leaders

  • 3+ years of experience with Diversity and Inclusion
