As Director of Software Engineering - EASE Feature Engineering at Capital One, you and your team will support Feature Delivery across our Web and Mobile servicing applications. This application has won the JD Power Award two years in a row and is a primary serving channel for our customers. This position requires a dynamic and strategic leader who can build high-performing teams and work across multiple geographies. You will drive the integration of intelligence into the application and create the capabilities for all customers to have unique experiences within the application.
You will provide technology leadership; guiding architectural and design decisions. You must be able to provide career coaching and support for team members to develop their technical, business, and professional skills. You’ll be able to identify and remove impediments, while successfully driving towards key initiatives. Building and maintaining strong relationships and earning and maintaining confidence with both customers and business leaders are critically important responsibilities for this role.
The ideal candidate:
Successfully leads engineers and supports the business at the enterprise level
Is actively involved in the local technology community as a speaker or impactful networker
Has depth and breadth of knowledge across multiple software engineering disciplines: mobile, web, orchestration, API, and open source
Is self-driven, actively looks for ways to contribute, and knows how to get things done
Has good communication and reasoning skills, including the ability to make a strong case for technology choices
Has the ability to build consensus and iteratively improve solutions
Firmly believes in leading by influence and by adding value
At least 5 years of experience in People Management
At least 5 years of experience building scalable, consumer-facing mobile or web software solutions
5+ years of experience in agile development and methodologies.
5+ years of experience developing for Android, iOS and Web application platforms
3+ years of experience developing software that is set up for both inner-source and open-source consumption
3+ years of experience building scalable, secure, and resilient applications that are automated for testing, build, and deployment
