UI/UX Design Engineer

The PowerUp Experience Delivery (PXD) Team’s responsibility is to connect users in the Capital One enterprise with simple to use, digitally enriched experiences that are designed to maximize associate productivity.   There.  That sounds corporate-y enough to get past the HR folks - so now that’s straight, let’s break it down:  We do cool stuff.  A lotta cool stuff.  Our teams uncover old, archaic processes and identify associate pain-points caused by outdated or shoddy technology - and then we design, develop, and implement new ways of doing things that alleviate users’ headaches and wasted time.   To make all of this happen, we have great people with diverse skill sets - including researchers, designers, developers, product owners, and data scientists - all collaborating and working together with a common goal of improving the experience for every user in the Capital One enterprise.  We set audacious goals, laugh at danger, break all the rules, show up, and blow up.  If you’re super and want to work with super people - you know where to find us.

The PXD Team is looking for a UI/UX Designer to add to its ranks!

In this role you will:

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements for new features, products, or services in collaboration with product owners and development teams

  • Create and present design concepts using wireframes and journey maps to internal teams and key stakeholders

  • Develop low and high fidelity UI mockups and prototypes for various platforms - including iOS, Android, Web, and our internal intranet platform

  • Create original graphic designs and logos

  • Identify and troubleshoot UX issues

  • Conduct design adjustments based on user feedback

  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams (researchers, design, development, data, and change management) to solve problems
     

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 2 years experience with a design portfolio that includes web, iOS, and Android products

  • At least 2 years experience delivering UI and UX digital products to end users 

  • At least 2 years experience refining digital design ideas through prototyping or wireframing

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Design, Art, or HCI

  • 3+  years hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, and other User Experience offerings.

  • 1+ year of experience with Intranet design

  • 1+ year of experience working within LumApps is a huge plus

  • 1+ year of experience with wireframe tools and design software
