Systems Support Specialist (AWS)

Capital One is looking for an exceptional IT Ops and Infrastructure Systems Specialist to join our SWARM  team within Capital One. We’re looking for people passionate about the Cloud and giving back to the Open Source Community. You’ll have the opportunity to be hands on, developing automated solutions.

You will be responsible for the production process and will be accountable for process performance; assist with identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements to gain efficiencies; and leverage process and relationship management to collaborate with clients to drive cross-functional improvements.  You will oversee technical and operational related activities. Through strong relationships you will help operational audits and provide reports to senior leadership which include analysis of the data and solutions.

In this role, you will help remediate cloud compliance concerns.  Your role is critical to ensuring the integrity of computer-generated data. As an essential member of the team, your responsibilities involve a deep technical understanding of architecture and environments supported.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Cloud technologies (primarily AWS)

  • Ability to produce, develop and or deliver the capability to obtain the operational metrics leveraging automation, scripting, API’s etc.

  • Identify opportunities for and driving continuous process improvements

  • Strong outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization

  • Ability to grasp new technologies rapidly as needed to progress varied initiatives

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary due to the dynamic nature of collaborations with customers, vendors, and other engineering team, solving complex business problems together

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 2 years' experience with Cloud based hosting solutions (AWS)

  • At least 2 years of experience with scripting

  • At least 2 years of experience with Python programming

  • At least 3 years of experience in software engineering or cloud operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certification

  • 1+ years of experience designing and deploying enterprise-wide scalable operations & infrastructure on AWS

  • 1 + years of experience working with automated build and continuous integration systems
