The Design Operations Risk and Analytics Lead is responsible for developing and implementing risk management and analytics practices for the Experience Design Operations team that supports all of Capital One designers and partners. This includes identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to the team's operations, as well as developing and maintaining reporting tools and dashboards to track the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
The Design Operations Risk and Analytics Lead will also be responsible for designing and building process maps, dashboards, and mapping data from a range of systems of record to provide a holistic view of the business and identify efficiencies and risks across internal teams, tools, and third-party suppliers. This role will also be responsible for governance of design standards, centralized research operations & compliance, and data monitoring for users across various third party relationships managed by the Design Operations organization.
The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader, have a solid understanding of risk management and analytics, as well as experience in design operations, product management, process mapping, dashboarding, and data mapping. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and they will be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Scope:
Responsible for developing and implementing risk management and analytics practices for the Design Operations team, in compliance with all applicable regulations and risk requirements for Capital One. They will also be responsible for designing and building processes that govern design standards, centralized governance of research operations and providing a holistic view of the business to identify inefficiencies and risks across internal teams, tools, and third-party suppliers.
Collaboration & Connection
Encouraging innovation and helping shape and manage effective and efficient risk practices across the Experience Design organization
Partnering with cyber, tech, risk, design leads, partners and teams to coordinate and prioritize resources and the portfolio of cross-organization work
Building and maintaining strong working relationships by collaborating with local and enterprise-wide risk, human resources, technology and learning and development partners, as well as business teams to uncover customer and business needs
Overseeing organizational feedback mechanisms to understand operational process inefficiencies and pain points
Driving momentum by creating transparency to the overall operations and risk portfolio
Connecting with design operations, chiefs of staff, and design practice communities across Experience Design organization by learning, sharing, and teaching
Establishing consistency of terminology and standardized reporting for Experience Design as a whole and across Experience Design business units in collaboration with key partners
Lead & Develop Teams
Building and leading a successful team by mentoring, coaching, and elevating others
Guiding team members in strategy, research, design, alignment, analysis, process improvement, and change management
Navigating conflict resolution within your team as well as within projects, teams and partner relationships
Discovery, Delivery and Support
Assisting and driving project delivery, including project and process management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
Own drafting and reviewing materials for senior management, and other governance activities
Identifying, standardizing and scaling operations best practices, specifically with respect to risk management, data governance and overall metrics and reporting
Designing, streamlining and automating organization-wide operational processes to simplify and enable Experience Design associates and leaders to focus on their work
Developing and deploying a communications and education strategy for operational or risk management change
Maintaining all Experience Design operations metrics, reporting, feedback and routines:
Reporting on the portfolio of work, organizational health and satisfaction to stakeholders
Coordinating and facilitating operational activities and events
Tracking effectiveness of operating standards and talent/performance management activities
Be comfortable working at all levels of zoom, from influencing portfolio strategy to task execution
Leading Audit engagements as point person when Audit Responses arise
Ensure Data Management policies are followed, and controls are monitored
Assist in capturing, maintaining, and analyzing data, interpreting it to ensure consistency and adequate Risk Management adherence
At least 8 years of experience in Operational Risk Management AND 8 years of Process Management experience
At least 8 years of experience conducting Business Intelligence (BI)
At least 4 years of People Management experience
Comfortable managing cross-channel and cross-organizational experiences
Comfortable working with Risk, HR, Finance, Design, Product, Tech and Strategy partners
Experience managing multiple large portfolios of work
Familiarity working with design, creative or analytics teams
