Sr. Manager, Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff (CoS) will assist in managing strategic priorities and lead operational/management systems for the Leadership Team (LT).  The CoS will support the SVP of Card (newly integrated SBC and CML Card org) and his direct and extended leadership team as we execute team priorities. 

This critical position will serve as the “right hand” of the SVP and enable leaders to execute strategic priorities while ensuring operational rigor. The CoS is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining strategic areas including 1) Strategy, 2) Executive Support and Team Culture, and 3) Operational Excellence.

The skills you bring:

  • Proven ability to build strong, trusted relationships and operate in an influential manner with executives to assist in driving the strategic agenda

  • Highly collaborative; has excellent communication skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders to manage, inform and influence outcomes.  The stakeholder ecosystem is broad and includes Finance, Human Resources, Product, Risk, Operations, and Marketing.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with an understanding of, and appreciation for, how the sales and client management “field” operates.

  • Highly-motivated, self-starter who can work autonomously and can independently take initiative

  • Proven ability to lead moderate sized cross functional teams to drive complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction

  • Proven experience in operating with discretion when handling highly sensitive issues

  • An energetic, creative and fun-loving personality that fosters an environment built upon trust, collaboration, and belonging.

What you’ll own: 

  • Strategy support: Partner closely with the LT to drive the forward leaning direction for the team and create a cross functional view of the destination. Facilitate the creation of presentations that articulate the strategy to key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Executive support and team culture: play an integral role in enhancing our intentional, team-oriented organizational culture and facilitate a management system to ensure organizational effectiveness; Lead initiatives to address associate engagement strategies  

  • Communications: Ensure alignment across the organization through strategically designed updates around strategy and progress, often in partnership with the communications team

  • Event Architect:  Partner closely with field effectiveness colleagues to ensure streamlined orchestration of activities such as LT meetings, Offsite planning, All Hands Events, and LT events.  

  • Operational Excellence: Support and in some cases lead moderate to large horizontal priorities and special projects across the team; Ensure the right metrics are in place to track and manage priorities, outcomes, risks, budgets, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management or Process Management

  • At least 5 years of experience building and influencing strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 3+ years experience in Product Strategy and Management

  • 3+ years of experience serving in a Chief of Staff or Project Management role in a large, complex and matrixed organization
