The Senior Legal Specialist for the Legal Department’s Card Operations Legal Team (COLT) plays a pivotal role in the operations of COLT’s work advising the credit card business units who investigate and respond to consumer complaints. The Senior Legal Specialist will help ensure that COLT’s work and processes are well-managed and consistently improved, while also reporting out to numerous internal and external stakeholders on different types of risk in the COLT portfolio. The individual in this role will manage numerous risk management processes, document and enhance processes across COLT, assist in data analysis, regularly interact with Legal team attorneys and specialists, and partner with business associates in numerous departments, such as the Customer Advocacy Office and Compliance.
Analyzing regulatory reporting for trends
Managing risk management processes
Documenting critical COLT processes
Identifying and executing process improvements
Regularly interacting with a large team of attorneys and legal specialists from diverse portfolios
Managing multiple high-priority, deadline-sensitive tasks independently
Coordinating priorities that span multiple organizations and working toward multiple deadlines simultaneously
Facilitating discussions and meetings with client groups
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 2 years of administrative support or project management experience
Experience with Microsoft Office (Microsoft 365) or Google Workspace (i.e., Gmail and Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
3+ years of experience in process management or risk management
At least 3 years of experience in a law firm, in-house counsel legal department, government, non-profit organization or corporate environment
