Senior Analyst - Capital Markets & Risk

Capital One is seeking a motivated professional to join the Finance Risk Management (FRM) group as a Senior Analyst. The risk advisory function within the FRM is responsible for identifying and monitoring the business risk associated with the balance sheet management activities and projects. This function is also responsible for managing the Finance model governance program and related requirements by other risk oversight functions across the company. 

 

We are seeking dedicated, disciplined, process and control professional who excels in a team environment. This person needs to have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and have the ability to adapt to change quickly. This person also needs to have experience in driving cross-functional projects. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist management of the model governance program, including monitoring model risks via dashboard, supporting model monitoring activities, mitigating model risks while partnering with model developers, model owners, model risk office and audit.

  • Assist financial risk assessment in areas such as market, liquidity and counterparty credit risks. Partner closely with 1st line as well as market and liquidity risk oversight and enterprise risk management teams.

  • Assist assessment of business risks and controls for balance sheet management activities. Support the design and implementation of key controls which ensure appropriately mitigate risks.

  • Assist process owners to prepare for and execute audits and exams, consult on management responses, and monitor timeliness of remediation and closure. Influence communication and interaction with auditors and examiners

  • Assist risk assessment related to on-demand finance, data management and automation initiatives

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience  

  • At least 2 years experience in financial modeling, risk management, project management, or a combination

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 3+ years of experience in developing or validating statistical, econometric or forecasting models

  • 3+ years of experience in audit, compliance, or in risk management  

  • 3+ years of experience in process management or project management

  • 3+ year of experience in data analytics
