The Risk Management Risk Office & Chief of Staff (ROCoS) Team is seeking a highly motivated Risk Manager to apply their analytical and project management skills to support our highest profile Risk Management activities for Commercial Credit Risk & Analytics (CR&A). Commercial CR&A provides credit risk oversight for the Commercial and Wholesale Small Business lending activities. In this role, you will work with a team of Risk Specialists responsible for working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge risk solutions to ensure Capital One’s continued stability and success.
As a Risk Manager, you will partner with Commercial CR&A Executives and their teams to identify risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. You will be responsible for providing advice, guidance, and effective challenge to key business area(s) on potential issues or risks related to their risk management, governance and oversight processes. In addition, you will manage key risk activities and work with business stakeholders on new and changing risk programs. In this role, you will apply your problem solving, communication, and influencing skills to provide advice as well as lead and/or support initiatives to improve our overall risk management.

The candidate will be a highly-motivated Risk Management professional with excellent organization, problem solving, planning, collaboration, and communication skills. This will be a rewarding role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments appropriately.
Supporting, partnering and interacting with Executives, business stakeholders and other risk management professionals across the enterprise;
Collaborating effectively with key partner risk organizations (e.g. Audit, Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, and Operational Risk Management);
Facilitating and leading audits and regulatory exams directed to and/or impacting Risk Management;
Engaging directly with Commercial CR&A Accountable Executives and their teams as well as Audit and external regulators through routine engagements;
Monitoring issue management, tracking, and closure;
Facilitating and leading risk assessments and related activities (Critical Business Process Identification, Process Level Assessments, Risk and Control Self-Assessments, etc), which includes challenge and influence over critical outcomes;
Leveraging industry benchmarking and best practices to provide thought leadership and guidance to Executives and their teams on sound risk management practices;
Analyzing information to proactively identify risks, trends, and process improvements while reporting Risk Management with control inventory management, testing needs, and data quality governance on controls and documentation in PRIME/Fuse;
Escalating and reporting critical issues and risks to ROCoS and RM Leadership;
Managing and overseeing special projects and engagements in collaboration with ROCoS Leadership
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 3 years of Financial Services Risk Management Experience
At least 2 years of Process or Project Management experience
At least 5 years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs
At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
At least 7 years of Financial Services risk management experience
Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams to deliver
Excellent communication, both written and verbal
