Principal Associate- Risk Management, Commercial Real Estate

The Underwriting and Portfolio Management organization is responsible for working with internal partners to underwrite new transactions and manage the existing portfolio of loans. Our Underwriters and Portfolio Managers balance supporting the Commercial’s Bank’s growth and ensuring we have a scalable, well-managed business. This role supports Commercial Real Estate.

As a Principal Associate within our CRE Portfolio Management team, you will be part of a team focused on ensuring that our Underwriters, Portfolio Managers, and Bank Leadership have access to the data and reporting that they need to operate day-to-day and manage risk. In addition, you will work on process and automation initiatives to make those day-to-day activities more efficient. You will also support portfolio credit risk analysis as part of broader portfolio risk management.

General responsibilities of this role may include:

• Understanding our data ecosystem, including front-end systems and back-end data warehouse, and be able to extract data using SQL for use in reporting, analysis, and process improvements

• Understanding UW&PM processes and reporting and data requirements, including business, policy, and regulatory

• Performing portfolio risk analysis as needed.

• Engaging, collaborating and working cohesively with key stakeholders across the Commercial Bank, including Credit, Product, Technology, Program Management, Sales, Operations, Finance and other internal groups to drive improvements in risk management processes.

• Providing subject matter expertise on processes when representing CRE Portfolio Management in projects and other meetings or communication.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in commercial underwriting or portfolio management or at least 2 years of working in a process management or control assessment environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3+ years of experience in commercial underwriting or portfolio management or 3+ years of working in a process management or control assessment environment

• 2+ years of experience with SQL, Python, or other programming languages
