Manager - Technology Risk Management (Program Build & Implementation)

Technology Risk Management (TRM) is a growing organization focused on providing expert advice, credible challenge, and effective oversight of information security and technology activities to identify, assess, control, and manage technology risk throughout the company. This organization plays a critical role in helping to ensure the company’s risk-taking entities are aware of the risks inherent in their activities and decisions, the impact of their actions at an enterprise level, and opportunities to reduce, mitigate, or avoid the risks altogether.  Associates within TRM are highly-skilled information security, cyber, technology, and risk management professionals who have a wealth of experience and a demonstrated ability to provide value-added recommendations and deliver high-impact results in their area(s) of expertise.

This position - Technology Risk Manager (Program Build & Implementation) - will partner with our Portfolio Governance & Delivery horizontal services team to  build important internal risk programs and help the organization deliver on its top priorities.

Specifically, this associate will:

  • Develop and coordinate internal TRM processes and program governance maturation;

  • Drive Agile maturity and innovative approaches across the organization;

  • Assist vertical teams in building project and program roadmaps and project managing the execution;

  • Assist in managing key project deliverables across all initiatives (including management of the project in Jira and Confluence tools);

  • Assist in development and sustainability of key programs

  • Participate in sprint and project planning; analyze program dependencies;

  • Act as a go-to person for team-related questions and governance;

  • Gather data and reporting; perform analysis and evaluation of data provided by team and key stakeholders;

  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks to theTRM organization as part of the Information Security and Technology control programs;

  • Resolve or escalate impediments to help the organization deliver on its top priorities

  • Support TRM’s reporting and analytics needs, including the preparation of written reports and oral presentations to communicate identified issues and recommended remediation actions

  • Proactively identify process improvements that will improve risk practices, including opportunities for automation

  • Support centralized management of TRM internal risk processes and deliverables

Technology Risk Management associates have a high level of exposure across lines of businesses and have the opportunity to work with stakeholders to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company through effective technology risk management.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

  • Serve as a Risk Manager and coach junior and senior colleagues on the potential risks (including program risks and cyber risks) and mitigation activities

  • Work across the multiple TRM towers and understand how initiatives impact the organization and stakeholders

  • Develop and implement project plans to integrate sound risk management practices  into all aspects of the organization’s work

  • Perform analysis and reporting on risk information to advance risk management practices in our organization

  • Manage complex programs and leverage data to measure and monitor progress against commitments

  • Foster a culture of openness, collaboration, and continuous improvement of being well-managed

  • Implement mature risk practices and other innovation models throughout the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience working with internal business customers

  • At least 5 years of risk management experience

  • At least 3 years of project management experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working in the fields of information security, cyber or technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience managing risk related projects

  • At least 5 years of experience facilitating Agile teams on cybersecurity or IT projects

  • At least 2 year of experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Confluence)

  • Passion and expertise in cybersecurity or technology

  • At least 2 years of experience in analysis 

  • Confident, respectful, and articulate when registering dissenting opinions with colleagues and senior management

  • Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
