As a product manager with Mainstreet Credit Innovation, you will play a lead role in driving the long-term strategy and vision to build leading-edge capabilities that ensure our customers always receive the outcomes we intended. You will strategize and develop capabilities in close partnership with technology, business, and product teams from across Card to bring this vision to life.
General areas of responsibility:
You will be involved in shaping and contributing to the overall Card customer experience and enablement of Capital One’s platform ecosystem by seeking and applying insights from dependent platforms, apps, and segments - moving from concepts to prototypes and prototypes to scalable solutions.
You will develop hypotheses, build MVPs, and run pilots determining product, feature, and capability fit and value.
You will be a part of overall thought leadership around platform development at the intersection of data+design+tech = for the sake of creating meaningful, measurable business and customer value.
You will collaborate with an extended team within the card platform organization
You will lead a team of product owners who will work hand-in-hand with development teams that are your solutioning and delivery partners for bringing the roadmap to life and value to fruition.
You will provide direct Product leadership to development teams, drive day-to-day prioritization of work, troubleshoot reported issues, and oversee releases
You will be breaking down business epics into features and further into user stories
You will be writing acceptance criteria and lead the grooming efforts with the Agile team
You have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
Experience & Expertise
Experience creating a framework for concept exploration, product prototyping, iteration and deprecation
Leading research and applying research insights throughout the product development process utilizing human centered design and/or “Design Thinking”
Experience weaving together user benefits, business strategy and technology into a comprehensive platform capability strategy (strategy, execution plan, metrics for success)
Ability to collaborate closely with architects, designers and engineers to create platform products
Adept at applying Agile development philosophy and practices to deliver top-tier delivery transparency, efficiency, and flexibility
Passion for holistic experience design that incorporates usability and utility
Effective communication skills throughout the process: driving a project forward, evangelizing value, executive summaries
Collaborative, team player attitude (confidence without attitude)
Startup experience and/or some time at a well-oiled large company in a role working with technology products with accountability to managing delivery across multiple development teams
In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas
You’ll define clear and actionable problem statements to help teams deliver results while displaying a comprehensive understanding of iterative software delivery, capable of thin-slice MVP grooming
You’ll leverage customer insights to influence priorities and roadmap feature development while advocating for and driving alignment between stakeholders in the development of acceptance criteria
You’ll obsess over UX/UI patterns and seek to create world class, omni-channel experiences
You’ll own and prioritize the near-term product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, quickly identifying points of leverage in complex problems or systems, and utilizing data effectively to define success metrics and measurable outcomes
You’ll utilize balanced judgment in decisions about risks of both actions taken and not taken while innovating on ways to iterate faster in a well-managed way for the immediate team
You’ll understand and leverage technology and end-state architecture vision to partner with technology team to drive comprehensive design decisions out of white space technical problems
You’ll share business strategy and roadmap with Tech partners to establish context while also leading and facilitating agile ceremonies alongside Tech Lead
You’ll deliver value by creating reusable, extensible and resilient capabilities and proactively identify opportunities when key metrics on security, resilience and performance are not performing
You’ll develop and communicate a 6-month vision to senior stakeholders and partner teams with accurate details and transparency on risks and impediments, and proactively build relationships with those outside of your immediate team resulting in horizontal influence

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 3 year of product management experience or at least 3 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
MBA or Master’s degree
2+ years of experience in Agile product management
