We are looking for a passionate associate with a background in asset management, a strategic mindset and a drive for continuous improvement and experience leveraging technology to scale and add customer value.  In this role, you will report directly to our Head of Portfolio Acquisition & Integration and be responsible for the day-to-day execution of our strategic initiative to accelerate  growth through continuous acquisition of registered investment advisors.  The associate will be a key contributor in support of our Investment & Trading due diligence efforts aimed to qualify acquisition candidates, execute the investment integration tasks and take responsibility for the on-going analysis, oversight and risk reporting of securities/portfolios scheduled to be prudently transitioned to  United Income’s investment products and strategies.  


Our ideal candidate is an independent self-starter with solid industry experience, strong reporting and analytical capabilities (ability to organize and interpret big data from multiple sources), the ability to collaborate internally (cross-functionally) and with external acquisition candidates, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to think strategically but to execute tactically.  This role requires a combination of asset management and trading experience, interpersonal skills and analytical capabilities.


The Acquisition Due Diligence & Integration Oversight position will have a significant role in building, developing, and maintaining a well managed due diligence, integration, and oversight framework to support our ambitious growth plans.  You will work closely with our Growth, Wealth Management, Risk and Compliance teams to conduct due diligence on acquisition candidates, to integrate acquired client portfolios and to institute and continuously improve a well managed framework to ensure proper oversight of acquired assets in accordance with highest fiduciary standards.  You will work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to translate business strategies into digital requirements to enhance execution efficiency that empower our Wealth Managers and enhance the client experience.  


This role is integral to the oversight of securities/portfolios that will transition overtime with a goal  to align with United Income’s investment strategies, as well as executing medium-long term portfolio transition strategies, security and portfolio analysis, trade preparation and innovations in support of ongoing growth.  Emphasis is on customer care, fiduciary duty and regulatory obligations.  A commitment to excellence is demonstrated through continuous development, deep collaboration, engagement, knowledge, skills, and morale.


Here’s What We Expect To See

  • Key member of a new team focused on due diligence, integration, oversight and risk control reporting of acquired client portfolios

  • Oversight of newly funded accounts, on-going portfolio management, documentation requirements, and tax related issues

  • Key contributor to establish and maintain due diligence protocols to assist onboarding acquired clients through a seamless transition

  • Provide periodic reporting to Executive Leadership and valuable insights to United Income’s Investment Strategy & Governance Committees with an emphasis on the investment & trading risk control environment

  • Support the development of ranking criteria to periodically and efficiently screen mutual funds, ETFs and other commingled products

  • Conduct periodic reviews of customer files for completeness, and oversee maintenance of all logs, checklists, forms, notices and disclosures 

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, internal supervisory controls and Corporate RIA program procedures

  • Build and maintain investment documentation and management of processes and procedures.

  • Work closely with the technology team to maximize and integrate technology to improve work processes and data management

  • Provide support and information to internal and external auditors

  • Drive continuous process improvements and increase efficiency 

  • Demonstrated level of investment/analytical understanding & ability to grasp and articulate complex topics

  • Work with Senior Management to ensure the accomplishments of departmental goals and  prepare reporting to track KPIs across the team

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of asset management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in investment operations

  • At least 3 years of RIA experience

  • At least 2 years of experience with laws and regulations governing financial institutions, Registered Investment Advisors and FinTech platforms

  • At least 2 years of Agile or Lean experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or field such as Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, 

  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services industry

  • 7+ years of experience in RIA or Bank Wealth Management

  • 3+ years of experience leading the back or middle office function in investment organizations, financial services companies, hedge funds, fund of funds, family offices or similar financial settings

  • 2+ years of experience working with auditors and regulatory agencies
