The Role:

As a member of the enterprise Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) team,  you will  support the advancement of Capital One’s DIB strategy by serving as a strategic thought leader, partner and advisor to Capital One’s enterprise-wide Business Resource Groups (BRGs). You will primarily be responsible for further maturing and developing our BRGs, including creating and executing strategies , advising BRG leadership, and ensuring the BRGs’ business impact aligns with broader DIB strategy and objectives. You will also:

  • Provide effective guidance and oversight to BRGs and their leadership team, including consulting on company policy, code of conduct, and operating principles

  • Advocate for BRG imperatives -Serve as BRG Ambassador to company, DIB Councils,  HR Consultants (HRCs), Lines of Business (LOBs) and other stakeholders promoting the BRG value proposition

  • Be well-versed on external DIB best and next practices, trends, research, and insights 

Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Partner and guide BRG leadership on long-term strategy, ensuring alignment to DIB and company strategy; including consistent framework and a well-managed structure

  • Advocate on behalf of BRGs to senior leadership and other stakeholders, 

  • Engage with Executive Sponsors, Accountable Executives, National BRG Leads, and other BRG leadership to gauge progress against strategic goals

  • Serve as a liaison between other enterprise teams - HR, TA, Talent Management/Performance Management, Legal, People Analytics, and other LOB roles

  • Facilitate cross-collaboration and alignment within BRGs, DIB, business, and HR efforts

  • Formally share and implement best practices across BRGs, including key performance indicator (KPI) alignment 

  • Apply research, best practices, benchmarks,  and and data insights to solve problems and provide guidance across BRGs 

Operational

  • Identify and Influence key BRG roles:  Define volunteer and  leadership selection processes, including succession planning

  • Onboard new BRG Leaders, AEs and Executive Sponsors

  • Lead the development and launch of new virtual/local BRG chapters, including onboarding new leadership

  • Support the development and socialization of governance and operational tools such as BRG leadership manuals, Chapter Dashboards, measures of success, and  KPIs

  • Support engagement and collaboration with Capital One’s external Diversity Community Partners (DCPs) 

  • Drive recognition for BRGs in the talent management and performance management processes

  • Manage the completion and submission of data related to internal/external surveys as they relate to BRGs and BRG programs, in partnership with DIB Communications team

Logistics

  • Partnership and execution of large-scale campaigns, including heritage months, cultural celebrations, and other BRG-led initiatives

  • Event management and general program management -

    • Contracting & internal communications 

    • Event support and execution 

  • BRG Budget Management 

  • Management and execution of internal BRG leadership team meetings 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in Diversity & Inclusion, Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility OR Non-profit Advocacy  

  • At least 2 years of experience in project management OR process management 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience solving people and talent problems

  • At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources 

  • At least 5 years of experience in Diversity and Inclusion

  • At least 3 years of experience with Business Resource Groups / Employee Resource Groups

  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management

  • Experience with volunteer engagement strategies and management 

  • Experience influencing and relationship building skills with clients, partners, and people with various backgrounds and cultures, including coaching and consulting with senior leaders

  • Demonstrated experience in Diversity & Inclusion with some experience in inclusion, equity,  and belonging strategies for women, people of color, LGBTQ+ employees, and other underrepresented communities

  • Effective coaching skills and ability to influence through expertise

  • Ability to support and influence data-driven decisions with various audiences through best practice research, benchmarking, and monitoring internal program metrics

  • Strong attention to detail and results oriented, ability to meet objectives and handle multiple deadlines and priorities

  • Strong communication, influence, and problem-solving skills across all stakeholders

  • Comfortable navigating through complexity and ambiguity, taking thoughtful risks resulting in action

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
