As a Director at Capital One, you will be responsible for working with business partners, cybersecurity teams, and AWS to identify and consult on potential risks, applying your software engineering, risk and process management and analytical skills to continuously help Cloud Safety securely launch new and existing cloud native services. You will bring an automation lens to the approach.
The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated risk or process management professional with excellent process improvement and communication skills. The candidate will be detail-oriented and results focused, and will have a proven record of problem solving and collaborating with others.
What You’ll Do:
Lead a technology group of teams and developers to create solutions that help meet Cloud Security and Compliance needs for the company
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and prototyping/implementing the technical solutions.
Be familiar with and help the team utilize programming languages like Python, YAML, OPA, Serverless (Lambda, Fargate), and a variety of AWS native tools and services.
Lead multiple delivery teams and coach team through their career development and performance
Develop the technical strategy, roadmap and vision for the platforms you own
Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios - Continuously improve software engineering practices
Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
Drive security control requirements to ensure they are necessary, verifiable, and attainable through platforms such as Cloud Custodian and Wiz.
Develop and implement solutions for sustainability of security of cloud at scale
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, evaluate new tools, and drive implementation of technology that drives values
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 7 years experience in software development
At least 5 years experience in people management
At least 2 years experience with Cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification
10+ years of experience in software development
9+ years of experience with cloud security controls and compliance
7+ years of hands-on experience in the systems development, implementation, and operations of large-scale, distributed, enterprise systems
5+ years of experience in Agile practices
2+ years of experience in data streaming, big data processing, data analytics and reporting
