This is an exciting opportunity for a talented marketing professional to join Capital One’s Brand Media Team as a Director, leading our mass media data management and measurement strategy and providing thought leadership on emerging media platforms and technological innovations to shape our media journey.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of media measurement in both traditional and digital capabilities, knowledge of identity graph solutions, digital programmatic and mar/ad tech landscape, and experience using outputs from brand health and business attribution tools to understand performance and to optimize mass media strategy and investment. 

Simply put, you understand the many marketing levers behind business growth, have an evidence-based explanation for how media operates as one such lever, and can demonstrate its value and contribution to compel others to action in service of breakthrough mass media campaigns. 

What you’ll do

  • Develop data management and measurement strategy framework across mass media campaigns

  • Leverage past experience with MMM, MTA, clean rooms, and other attribution models

  • Evaluate and recommend emerging, scalable media platforms and technological innovations to future-proof Capital One’s mass media strategy

  • Keep Brand and line-of-business partners up-to-date on data privacy, CCPA and other state and federal compliance requirements

  • Serve as Brand Media team liaison to connect mass media activity and measurement to acquisition campaigns and to understand the full consumer path to purchase in order to achieve desired business outcomes

  • Translate mass media data analysis from disparate sources into actionable insights and succinct, data driven presentations to inform media strategy and investment, communicate findings to others, and influence Brand and Line-of-business partners

  • Identify and incorporate new and relevant use of media research and analytics tools, techniques and technologies, including test market design

  • Educate non-technical team members on current and future data solutions/platforms and how to implement across campaigns

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Brand Strategy and Insights, Performance Marketing, Brand Advertising, Digital, Social and Content, MarTech, Marketing & Analysis and external agency teams to develop integrated marketing and measurement solutions across channels and campaigns

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 10 years of professional experience, preferably at a media or advertising agency, research firm, or corporate environment in a consumer-focused role (e.g., media strategist, communications planner, strategic planner, account planner, data strategist) 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

  • At least 5 years of experience leading integrated multimedia programs (national and local) including television, radio, print, out-of-home, digital, and social for consumer campaigns

  • At least 3 years of experience designing and managing mass media measurement programs   

  • Financial services industry experience
