This is an exciting time for Capital One Card Partnerships, as we are looking to expand our business aggressively in the co-brand and private label credit card segment, not only through organic growth in existing programs, but also through acquisitions of new partners. In this role, you will lead a marketing team that works with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and pitch materials to help win new business by telling the Capital One story, outlining recommendations for value proposition development, and detailing our approach to customer lifecycle marketing, loyalty and rewards.
Serve as the Marketing lead on collaborative cross-functional business development teams (business partners, creative teams, etc.)
Influence senior leaders on storytelling approach and value proposition/marketing recommendations
Leverage customer insights, competitor insights, analytics and creative thinking to help your team develop compelling deck materials to support meetings and pitches with prospective partners
Identify any potential impediments to the business development process and autonomously solve or escalate to senior leaders for help as necessary
Inspire, empower, and develop a team of 3 marketing strategists and leverage an extended team of cross-functional experts to assist in the creation and delivery of pitches and meetings with prospective partners (analysts, creative, design, operations, legal, and tech)
Work cross-functionally to identify and leverage assets to aid in winning new business
Champion the brands, ensuring that all recommendations are in line with their respective brand personas, voice and style guides
Assist with transitioning newly-won business from the business-development team to our vertical business units
Work with a cross-functional team to manage the development and approval of programs agreements for newly-won business
The Ideal Candidate

Is an excellent communicator / storyteller (written and verbal) who can influence decision makers with formal presentations, and informal networking
Is a skilled relationship-builder who can create solid, high-leverage internal networks and client relationships
Has experience responding to RFIs/RFPs and developing written and creative proposals
Can manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work.
Demonstrates strong curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and think creatively to uncover and apply actionable consumer insights
Maintains an understanding of external environmental trends, industry trends, competitor trends to spark fresh ideas and ensure team capabilities can meet the changing marketplace
Can actively grow the abilities and skill of the team members through formal training programs and coaching.
Bachelor’s degree or Military experience
At least 8 years of experience in creating and delivering presentations to influence senior audiences.
At least 8 years of experience in business development, agency, consumer marketing or customer experience management
At least 5 years of experience in end to end marketing campaign development
At least 5 years of leadership experience in building teams, leading and developing direct reports
At least 5 years of experience in client relationship management
Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business
At least 6 years of experience in direct marketing and brand management
At least 3 years of work experience in financial services
