About the Role:
As a Communications & Events Senior Manager for Experience Design (XD) you will support leading the vision and portfolio for a dynamic team of Communicators, Production Specialists and Content Strategists. We serve a community of ~700 Experience Design associates, and are looking for a leader who is passionate about shaping XD’s narrative through strategic communications and channels best-practices.
We’re looking for someone with a track record of building effective relationships with and influencing senior leaders — a trusted advisor who can turn big ideas into simple and effective communications plans. And most of all, we’re seeing a creative thought leader who can fuel momentum across a talented team of diverse skill sets.
What you'll do:
Define, build, and execute integrated Communications and Events strategy for the Experience Design Organization
Lead the quarterly portfolio for Communications & Events, as well as the reporting of strategic objectives and key results for their high-impact programs
Setthe narrative around Experience Design and Quality, using stories to build Experience Design’s brand across our holistic team and Capital One partners
Build, manage, monitor, and evolve the spaces where associates engage, share, or hear information
Elevate the quality of Experience Design’s production systems, establishing the brand components of what and how we communicate across our associate base
Deliver and consult on all the communications strategies for news and change management that have horizontal impact across Experience Design
Create and oversee the rhythms and routines for our teams and partners to proactively make decisions around XD and C1 news.
Manage our Editorial calendar in partnership with LOB chief of staff offices and internal communications
Oversee the budgeting, content direction, and marketing success of our high-visibility events, including XD’s weekly meeting, What’s Up Thursday
Craft, partner, and deliver on the executive communications plans for XD’s extended leadership team
Develop strong knowledge of XD priorities and translate that into strategic communications plans and recommendations that drive associate engagement and broader understanding across the company
Leverage understanding of priorities, leader expectations, and associate engagement to share recommendations and influence decisions
Partner with counterparts across different organizations to drive strategic messaging and alignment across respective teams
Deeply understand and work back from the needs of XD associates when creating and managing communications plans.
At least 6 years experience in Internal or Marketing Communications
At least 3 years in a communications leadership role
Digital communications experience with a variety of communications channels
Experience working with a technology-oriented customer experience company
People leadership experience, with commitment to talent development
Proven ability as a strategic thinker, problem-solver, and influencer
Highly motivated, proactive, flexible, and results-oriented
Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and coaching skills
Strong organizational and prioritization capabilities
