Sr. Manager, Product Management, Card Core Platform

The Core platform is the central nervous system of the entire Capital One Card ecosystem touching nearly every aspect of the Credit Card lifecycle. The Core platform supports and plays an essential role in creating and delivering an industry leading customer experience for the nearly 90M active credit card customers within Capital One’s Card portfolio today. 

The Capital One Card Core Platform Team is looking for an exceptional Senior Product leader who will help define and execute our Core platform modernization strategy, as it relates to making data available real time everywhere. This is key to enabling machine learning, real time experiences everywhere, and building the foundation for the bank of the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Invest in understanding your customers and what motivates them. Identify customer pain points and translate these into the team’s vision, with clear objectives and results

  • Establish and openly share your vision with teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership. You’ll need to understand others’ motivations, learn from their past experiences, and influence a broader strategy as you iterate on your vision

  • Inspire and lead a team of product managers and engineering teams to deliver compelling approaches, roadmaps, and backlogs, while mentoring and growing their careers

  • Foster a culture of sharing openly, learning constantly, and connecting creatively. We have hard problems to solve and you’ll need to find the best ideas from across the organization.

  • Innovate relentlessly. Push big changes by starting small, testing ideas, and learning and evolving along the way. You’ll need to think big and be bold enough to stop solving a problem, when you realize it might not be the right problem to solve.

  • Apply minimum viable and minimum valuable product lense to use cases and this multi-year journey, as you and your team approach discovery, intent refinement, and prioritization

  • Build relationships across the organization to collaborate with an extended team beyond ours to collect insights

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in digital product management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

  • 5+ years of experience in Agile product management
